Hounds Run Tiny House is a quirky boutique stay perched on a gentle hill above the vineyard, with sweeping views across the vines and the rugged peaks of the Grampians rising in the distance. From the moment you arrive, the setting feels special — a tiny house sitting proudly in its own pocket of vineyard, surrounded by open countryside with the mountains on the horizon and stars overhead once the sun goes down. Hounds Run is not just a vineyard — it’s also part of a small working farm, which adds to the character of the stay. Depending on the season you may notice the rhythms of rural life around you, from vineyard activity to the native wildlife moving through the property. For many guests, this connection to the land is part of what makes the experience feel special — a tiny house perched above the vines with a working farm quietly carrying on around it. The Tiny House design embraces an indoor–outdoor style of living, with large windows and open views that blur the line between the cosy interior and the landscape around you.
The queen bed sits beside a large picture window overlooking the vineyard, making it one of the most memorable spots in the house. After a day exploring the region, many guests climb into bed with a glass of wine and watch the colours fade across the sky before the stars begin to appear overhead. Food and wine are also a big part of the experience at Hounds Run.
Every stay includes a continental breakfast hamper filled with beautiful local produce — typically featuring fresh bread from Blue Wren Bakery, preserves from Five Ducks Farm, and other breakfast essentials to enjoy at your own pace. Many guests take their time over breakfast on the deck while the vineyard slowly wakes up around them.
For dinner, some guests pick up produce or wine from nearby cellar doors and enjoy cooking on the barbecue, creating their own relaxed vineyard dinner as the sun sets across the vines. If you’d prefer not to cook, there are many great places to eat out in the region. Wine hampers and special occasion packages can also be organised — making the tiny house a perfect setting for anniversaries, birthdays or even a surprise proposal. After dinner, most guests drift naturally outside to enjoy the best part of the property — the setting itself. Sitting privately on its hilltop position, you'll have your own pocket of countryside to relax in.
With almost no surrounding light pollution, the vineyard enjoys spectacular dark night skies. On clear evenings you can lie in bed beside the picture window watching constellations drift overhead — and if you’re lucky, catch the occasional shooting star. Days might include winery hopping, hiking in the Grampians or exploring the region, before returning to your tiny house hideaway to watch the sunset roll across the vineyard and the stars take over the sky.
