Experience the Best of Hounds Run Vineyard & Tiny House
Perched on a gentle hill above the vineyard, with sweeping views across the vines and the rugged peaks of the Grampians rising in the distance. From the moment you arrive, the setting feels calm. Hounds Run is our certified organic vineyard in Great Western, named after our hounds, Paddy and Hunter. It's a working farm too, so depending on the season you might catch pruning, harvest, or the kangaroos clocking on at dusk. The farm carries on quietly around you. You just get the good bits.
Inside, big windows blur the line between cosy and countryside. The queen bed sits right beside a picture window over the vines, and it's the best spot in the house. Pour a glass, climb in, and watch the colours fade before the first stars turn up. Upstairs, the mezzanine reading nook is where that book you've been carrying around finally gets finished.
Food and wine are a big part of the experience at Hounds Run. Every stay comes with a breakfast hamper of local goodies: sourdough from Blue Wren Bakery, preserves from Five Ducks Farm and all the essentials. Take it out to the deck and let the vineyard wake up around you.
The grapes outside your window end up in Black & Ginger bottles. Come and taste the range at the wine shed in Pomonal, where a Sip Your Way tasting is on us (bookings essential).
For dinner, fire up the barbecue with produce and wine you've picked up from cellar doors along the way. Or head out: the region is full of great places to eat, and our favourites are in your welcome emails. Celebrating something? We can organise wine hampers and special occasion packages for anniversaries, birthdays, even a surprise proposal. Your secret's safe with us.
With next to no light pollution, the night sky is the main event here. On clear nights you can lie in bed by the picture window, watch the constellations drift overhead and, if you're lucky, catch a shooting star. Spend your days winery hopping or hiking in the Grampians (Gariwerd), then head home to the hill in time for sunset.
