Hounds Run Vineyard and Black & Ginger Wines are deeply connected — but they are not the same thing. They share the same land in the Grampians, the same hands, and the same commitment to quality in producing exceptional Grampians wines. However, each plays a distinct role. One grows the fruit for these small batch wines, while the other brings it to life.
Black & Ginger Wines is the creative expression of Hounds Run Vineyard — a label shaped by friendship, curiosity, and a hands-on approach to winemaking. Founded by winemaker Hadyn Black and entrepreneur Darcy 'Ginger' Naunton, their Grampians wines emphasize drinkability and a strong sense of place. While sourcing fruit from across the Grampians and neighbouring regions in Victoria, Hounds Run remains at the heart of their story, steering the influence behind their small batch wines and site-driven releases.
The Black & Ginger Wine Shed provides a relaxed, welcoming cellar door space for guests to explore Grampians wines and experience small batch wines from Hounds Run Vineyard in a more personal way. Set apart from the vineyard, it’s designed for slow tastings, casual conversations, and lingering a little longer over a glass. With an eclectic mix of vintage and modern touches, it’s less about formality and more about feeling at home with great wine.
Black & Ginger is often brought to life through a calendar of intimate and character-filled events featuring Grampians wines. From casual tastings of small batch wines to collaborative dinners and pop-ups at Hounds Run Vineyard and beyond, each event is designed to feel approachable and engaging. These gatherings focus on bringing people together over great wine, delicious food, and shared experiences.
