Hounds Run Vineyard and Black & Ginger Wines are deeply connected — but they are not the same thing.
They share the same land in the Grampians, the same hands, and the same commitment to quality. But each plays a distinct role.
One grows the fruit. The other brings it to life.
Black & Ginger Wines is the creative expression behind the vineyard — a label shaped by friendship, curiosity, and a hands-on approach to winemaking. Founded by winemaker Hadyn Black and
entrepreneur Darcy 'Ginger' Naunton, their wines focus on drinkability, and a strong sense of place. While fruit is sourced from across the Grampians and neighbouring regions in Victoria, Hounds Run remains at the heart of the story, influencing small-batch, site-driven releases.
The Black & Ginger Wine Shed offers a relaxed, welcoming cellar door space where guests can explore the wines in a more personal way. Set apart from the vineyard, it’s designed for slow tastings, casual conversations, and lingering a little longer over a glass. With an eclectic mix of vintage and modern touches, it’s less about formality and more about feeling at home with great wine.
Black & Ginger is often brought to life through a calendar of intimate and character-filled events. From casual tastings to collaborative dinners and pop-ups, each event is designed to feel approachable and engaging. Whether hosted at the Wine Shed or beyond, these gatherings are about bringing people together over great wine, delicious food, and shared experience.
