Check in and Check out
Check in time is 3pm onwards. Check out time is 11am. Late check ins are welcome until 9pm. Keep in mind that kangaroos are more active during the evening period, so drive safely! Please contact us to arrange your check-in time as our property is secured. We might be able to consider a late check out on, please ask when you are booking or during your stay. When you check out please leave the keys hanging above the sink, close the door and leave unlocked when you depart.
Power
Our Tiny House is completely off-grid, meaning it runs purely on solar power with the comfort of a gas heater for the winter months. It is very well insulated and ‘tiny’ with double glazed windows so the house will retain the heat/cool air for long periods of time, and it doesn’t take long to warm up or cool down.
Please be sure to turn all lights, ceiling fan, heater and/or air conditioner OFF before leaving the Tiny House (even for a day trip). Please do not run the air conditioner overnight, or you may find the fridge and water pump will not operate in the morning. Please check taps are turned off and the pump is not running continuously as this will also drain the power.
BBQ & Gas Bottles
Whilst we try to ensure there is enough gas in every bottle, they do run out. If either gas bottle runs out during your stay, please call Hadyn 0409 964 855 or Lucy 0425 725 247 and we’ll arrange a new one immediately. The BBQ is to be left clean after your visit, failure to do so will incur an additional cleaning fee of $25.
Board Games
For your enjoyment there is a selection of board games inside the bench seat next to the bed.
Bedding
The bed is fully made, including linen, bedding and two bath towels.
Supplies and Wines
We want to make sure you enjoy your stay and so have supplied locally made Five Ducks Farms Jam, bread from the Great Western Granary, milk, tea, coffee and other basic pantry supplies. Please take left over bread and jam home with you or dispose of it in the bins. A complimentary bottle of Black & Ginger Wine, made by Hadyn, has also been provided for your enjoyment.
Shoes
We would like to keep the Tiny House as fresh and clean as possible for as long as possible and for this reason, shoes are not to be worn inside, please use the shoebox on the deck for your shoes.
Our Neighbours
Next door is home to a horse stud. They are very friendly and you are welcome to pat the horses over the fence, however please do not climb the fence or walk into our neighbours property. They have kindly asked us that guests DO NOT feed the horses as this can disrupt their diets.
We wish we did not have to make these rules so strict, but unfortunately, we have had to!
Biosecurity in our vineyard
Western Victoria is as yet untouched by Phylloxera, devastating mite that destroys vines from the root system upwards. This pest has no cure, can be found in other parts of the state and can be transferred through footwear and clothing. We kindly ask all visitors to Hounds Run to remain on the outer roads around in the vineyard and not to walk through it to prevent the risk of Phylloxera from transferring to our region.
