Our Tiny House is located at the south western corner of our property at the top of our Vineyard.
Hounds Run is an operating vineyard and farm, as such guests may witness various activities related to operating the property. Guests are welcome to walk around the vineyard but request kindly not to walk along the rows as this poses a bio security risk to the region. During the summer months we ask guests to be careful when walking, to keep to the short grass as there can be snakes in the area.
We're always happy to answer any questions relating to viticulture (growing grapes) or the property in general.
Our Tiny House is completely off grid so we request guest be conscious of power consumption and do not leave the lights, heater or air conditioning on whilst they are out. It is also important to consider power consumption whilst they are in the home and do not run all the appliances at the same time.
One of the best things about our property is the lack of light pollution meaning it is perfect for star gazing, particularly during a new moon.
Towards the end of our growing season (Feb-Apr) the vineyard is at the mercy of cockatoos. They don't eat our ripening grapes but instead cut them off the vines and drop them on the ground causing substantial damage and loss of fruit. During this time we have bird scarers set up in the vineyard to keep them at bay. These operate on a timer and shoot a pop of gas off periodically throughout the day. In the winter months you may see us in the vineyard, hard at work, pruning in preparation for our next growing season.
