Introducing Hounds Run

A brief intro

Hounds Run Vineyard was born from a love story between a wine maker from Western Victoria and a businesswoman from Melbourne, both with a passion for wine and the serenity of the great outdoors. Hadyn and Lucy met whilst living as housemates in Richmond, Melbourne in 2013 and as their relationship developed so did their passion for the Grampians region. After many years commuting to and from the city, living in rental properties, Hadyn and Lucy found their forever home at Hounds Run and purchased the property in late 2016. They named the property after their two faithful hounds, Hunter, an Irish Wolfhound and Paddy a Greyhound X.

Hounds Run came with an established, but run down vineyard, which sits at the north west boundary of the 230 acre property on the outskirts of the Great Western Wine Village. The goals and ideas for Hounds Run have developed and grown along with their relationship with each other. They have set about improving the quality of the grapes by using sustainable and organic farming practices. The property has some beautiful views which have seen the the introduction of a Tiny House and a desire to share this perfect part of Victoria with the world. The Tiny House is a quiet sanctuary for people to visit. Eventually they plan to open a cellar door for their sister company and wine label Black & Ginger Wines.
